Canisius, is a personal College in the North-Central subdivision of Buffalo, New York. It was founded within 1870 by the Jesuits. It was known as for St. Peter Canisius, one of the original members of the Jesuits. When of 2004, it has 3,500 undergraduates and to a higher degree 1,500 graduate students. A school is one of Twenty-eight member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
Canisius College consists of a College of Arts & Sciences, a Wehle School of Business, & the School of Education & Person Services.
U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks Canisius as one of the best regional schools in its "North Region." Notable people associated with the college include Manuel De Landa, a philosophy professor, and Mick Cochrane, an English professor.
Canisius is served by ii stations on the Buffalo Metro Rail.
